Do I Really need a DJ?
DFC have been providing DJs to weddings & events since 2009. In that time we have provided over 5000 DJs to Brides & Grooms all over the UK.
Music, customer service and making sure our clients have an amazing time, have always, and will always, be our focus.
So, what are our top tips for firstly deciding if you need a DJ, and if you do, how to pick said DJ.
Take the time to choose the right DJ for you. A DJ will be with you for 5/7 hours on your wedding day. Make sure you know what to expect by chatting to them, doing your research by seeing what their reviews are like on Facebook and Google.
Do I need a DJ? I hear you ask. Well the answer is “no” in all honesty. If you are having a small intimate wedding a DJ may not be what you require. If you have a DJ with us booked through a hotel venue, feel free to swap our DJ for an artist, a chilled out guitarist with nice vocals maybe just what you require.
N.B. Our artists would do a 2 x 1 hour performance.
I have a band booked and don’t need a DJ. First of all, please check whether your band will be playing until the end of the evening. If they aren’t, a lot of bands offer a DJ, just check that it is a DJ though, not a phone on shuffle.
Whatever you do decide; if you have a band or other entertainment booked, our DJ will work with them throughout the night and fill in the gaps keeping the party going.
As a rule if we aren’t hosting your wedding to ensure we set up in good time, we will always make sure we are there from the moment you come out of your wedding breakfast.
N.B. We confirm your wedding breakfast end time with your venue prior to your wedding day.
Make sure your DJ Booth looks just as good as your decor. Just look at these images of our DJ booths, this is our standard set up for our hotel residences – See above image. You can add on to any of our looks though, if you want to make the DJ booth a feature or backdrop. We are loving these Neon Signs at the moment, this one was provided by The Word is Love. We call this our ‘Ultra Production Look’ and it is just the icing on the cake to make your wedding day stand out from the crowd.
Make sure that your DJ looks the part, this isn’t any old event! Tuxedo’s and black tie is how we dress, presentation is everything… after the music of course!
Make sure that your DJ knows what you do and, more importantly, don’t want to hear on your special day. Through our online planner you can add all the songs you want and don’t want to hear.
N.B. Our DJs will always contact you one week prior to your wedding to run through your evening; to chat about background music, your first dance, special songs to you as a couple, music for your entire evening, last anthem of the night.
